The Composition Workshop, a course designed for professional composers, is held annually in conjunction with Avanti’s Summer Sounds Festival. Composers from around the world participate in the course. The instructors for the workshop are composers Jukka Tiensuu and Tomi Räisänen.
A key component of the course is the task assigned to each participant to compose a new piece during the spring. These works will be performed by the chamber orchestra Avanti! at a concert held as part of the Summer Sounds Festival on Sunday, June 29 at 1:00 PM, conducted by Jukka Rantamäki at the Art Factory in Porvoo.
